The name of the city comes from the Malay word keluang, meaning a flying fox. There used to be plenty of these creatures in the region, hence the name. The capital town of the district was founded to serve as British administrative centre for central regions of Johor. The region was occupied by the Japanese during a World War II invasion. How to Reach Kluang?

By Air

The nearest airport within Malaysia you can use for Kluang travel is the Senai International Airport. But, the closest airport by distance to Kluang is the Singapore International Airport. Both these airports welcome direct international flights from many countries. The Senai Airport is also convenient to visit Kluang using domestic flights from other cities of Malaysia.
