Tangkak district is located on the north western end of Johor touching Malacca state and Negeri Sembilian state. Most of the places to visit in Tangkak are in and around Gunung Ledang National Park.

The National Park is situated at the north eastern corner  of the district. There are certain parts of this Tangkak tourist attraction are shared with Segamat district. The best place to begin sightseeing in Tangkak is the Mount Ophir. According to Malaysian folkore, the mountain is said to have magical powers. But that is not why people visit Tangkak. 2. Gunung Ledang National Park

This national park encompasses Mount Ophir and is equally popular for adventurous things to do in Tangkak. 6. Yu Xian Gong Temple

This Buddhist temple is located on route 23 in Sagil town. It makes for an interesting stop on the way to Mount Ophir or the National Park during Tangkak travel. The temple is not as large as the ones in Malacca or Johor, but is still an interesting piece of cultural exploration you can experience. You would need about 20 to 30 minutes for Yu Xian Gong Temple.

7. Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Sakthi Ashram

This small hindu temple is situated a little outside the town on route J123. If you want to explore a fragment of Indian culture in Malaysia during Tangkak sightseeing, then you can visit this temple. You would need 30 to 45 minutes to explore it.

How to Reach Tangkak?

By Air

The nearest airport for Tangkak travel is the Central Malacca airport. The second closest are the airports in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. Each of these cities also facilitate bus transport directly to visit Tangkak. You also have other travel options from the cities, though not directly from the airports. You will have to get to the city to find any transport options to reach Tangkak tourist attractions.

By Road

The closest train station for Tangkak travel is located in the neighbouring district of Segamat. The train stations of Batang Melaka, Batu Aman and Gemas are also fairly close. You can take a train to any of these stations and then continue journey by road to visit Tangkak. You will also get day trip and tours from Segamat by bus for many places to visit in Tangkak.

As far as buses are concerned, you will be able to get either direct or al least connecting bus for Tangkak travel from almost any major city or town on mainland Malaysia. The fastest way to reach Tangkak’s places of interest is to get to any of mainland Malaysia’s airports and catch a train to Segamat. Then you can take a bus for Tangkak sightseeing. If you are already on Malaysian mainland then you can skip step one. Besides there are also package tours of places to visit in Tangkak from various cities in Johor.

Each city with a train station also provides rental car and cab services which you can use for Tangkak travel. If you are traveling by road the Routes 23, J-123, J-21, and E2 will take you to the capital town of Tangkak district. You can then continue for Tangkak sightseeing from the town.

By Water

Though Johor is a coastal state, Tangkak is a landlocked district. You can get water transport for neighboring districts like Muar and Batu Pahat. Then you can continue your journey to visit Tangkak attractions by road. But, you don’t have a direct water route for Tangkak travel.
